Pokeradar chaining is quite popular among those who wish to seek shiny Pokemon in the wild. Although some find this method being difficult, others find it easy and preferable compared to the fishing and breeding methods. In order for this to work, you must be very careful and abide by all the rules otherwise the chain will break and you will have to start over once again.
----------------------------------------------------------------
***There are strict rules to Pokeradar Chaining that must be followed, otherwise you will break the chain and reset the chance of finding a shiny Pokemon until you start again.***
***Do not use the roller-skates/c-pad otherwise you will break the chain and the streak will end***
***If you encounter a different Pokemon than the one you started out with (for example, you encounter Abra repeatedly but suddenly run into a Plusle) your chain will end and the chances of you encountering a shiny Pokemon will be reset. BUT encountering Moltres/Zapados/Articuno will not end the streak.***
***If you encounter a Pokemon that was not in a shaking patch of grass, your chain will break and your streak will end.***
***Upon leaving the area/route, your chain will break and your streak will end.***
***Saving the game and shutting down the system will break the chain and end your streak.***
***If you run from the battle, your chain will break and your streak will end.***
***Having the message "It seems there is no Pokemon here" will break your chain and end your streak.***
SUGGESTIONS - Bring a Pokemon with attacks that have a lot of PP. Preferably, bring Pokemon with super-effective attacks.
-ALSO, if you are going to heal your Pokemon, I recommend that you do it during the battle. So that you will not break the chain that is. It is just a lot easier since you must remember where the shaking grass was.
- Stock up on a lot of Repels in order to prevent a sudden engagement in battle with a Pokemon that was not from a pile of shaking grass.
- Bring a Pokemon with the attack False Swipe or Hold Back to leave the Pokemon you wish to capture with 1HP left. If there is a chance that the Pokemon that you wish to capture might know self-damaging attacks, bring a Pokemon with Heal Pulse. As always, if you are going to capture a Pokemon, attacks such as Thunder Wave or Hypnosis are recommended.
- Stock up on lots of Ultra Balls. I myself will bring those as well as Dusk Balls and Timer Balls just to be safe.
- Set the Pokeradar as a Key Item simply for ease of access.
- Let the Pokemon you search for be in an area with a large amount of grass.
- Stand in the middle of the grassy area before activating the Pokeradar
----------------------------------------------------------------
Once you have gathered all of the needed materials and Pokemon, begin your session by standing in the grassy area in which your desired Pokemon resides. Activate your Pokeradar and walk to a shaking grassy patch.
-If the grass was shaking roughly, only walk into rough shaking patches. If the grass was shaking lightly, only walk into lightly shaking patches of grass.
Once you have defeated that Pokemon, walk into another patch of grass that is at least 4 patches vertically/horizontally away from you.
-If this Pokemon happens to be on the edge of the field of grass, your chain will end immediately. DO NOT DO IT. Instead, carefully walk outside of the grassy area and walk until you have reached about 50 steps (without the roller-skates or the bike). Once you have done this, walk back into the grass and activate the radar once again.
Once you have reached a chain of about 40, the chances of you coming across a shiny have been maxed out. Keep on following the method, as the higher the chain the better the IV's of the found Pokemon as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------
You can tell that the patch of grass will have a shiny because it will sparkle and emit a sound not that of the normal grass patches.
